Our Mission
The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo's mission is to empower all individuals with Down syndrome to achieve their goals and reach their fullest potential by providing support, education and advocacy not only for the individual, but also their families and communities.
Who We Are
DSAGT is a 501 C-3 non-profit organization established in 1983 that has evolved from a small support group in the basement of parent's homes, to a continuously growing organization, meeting the changing needs of individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
DSAGT serves northwest Ohio and southern Michigan. We serve 450 families in the area and work closely with other non-profit organizations and professionals.
We believe that knowledge empowers. By providing families with support, inspiration and information, we help individuals with Down syndrome achieve their maximum potential. We believe in inclusion. Including individuals with Down syndrome in neighborhood schools, community activities and the business world benefits both the individual and their respective communities.
Who We Serve
We are proud to serve 17 counties (pictured) in Northwest Ohio, as well as 6 counties in Southern Michigan: Monroe, Lenawee, Wayne, Washtenaw, Jackson and Hillsdale.
Any family, regardless of their place of residence, that desires to take part in our programs, services and events is WELCOMED!
